Spring Start-Up

As freezing temperatures begin their transition to warmer Spring days, Terra Nova Design recommends the Spring Start-Up service to ensure the irrigation system is operating at peak performance. Our professional team of technicians will perform and check the system for the following:

• Water Supply
  • Turn on the water supply
• Systematic check for leaks or issues
  • Activate each zone to check for damaged or leaking sprinkler heads
  • Inspect back-flow device for damage or performance issues
• Irrigation Watering Coverage
  • Check sprinkler heads for uniform spray pattern for maximum coverage
  • Look for any sign of excessive plant or landscape growth or landscape modifications that may affect overall coverage to turf and/or shrubbery
• Irrigation Watering Schedule
  • Activate the controller (replace back-up battery, if required)
  • Adjust or program controller based on current weather and site conditions
• Performance Review (if needed)
  • Note and/or discuss any modifications that are required that would improve the overall performance of your system.

Mid-Season Tune-Ups

Many factors can impact the efficiency and performance of an irrigation system – weather, soil conditions, landscape growth or modifications, even the watering schedule. Terra Nova Design offers a Mid-Season Tune-Up service that will help address many of these factors. Our professional team of technicians will perform and check the system for the following:

• Systematic check for leaks or issues
  • Activating each zone to check for damaged or leaking sprinkler heads
• Irrigation Watering Coverage
  • Check all heads to be sure they provide a uniform spray pattern for maximum coverage
  • Look for any sign of excessive plant or landscape growth or landscape modifications that may affect overall coverage to turf and/or shrubbery
  • Inspect property to look for stressed turf or plantings
  • Inspect property to look for signs of any over/under watering, which may include probing soil for possible soil impaction, debris and soil condition
• Irrigation Watering Schedule
  • Adjust or program controller based on current weather, site conditions or adjustments provided at the request of the homeowner/property manager/landscape contractor.
• Performance Review (if needed)
  • Note and/or discuss any modifications that are required that would improve the overall performance of your system

Winterizations

Not properly shutting down an irrigation system, yard hydrants and pier lines before temperatures fall below freezing can often lead to costly repairs. The Winterization service offered by Terra Nova Design prepares the system, hydrants and pier lines to weather those conditions without that worry. Our professional team of technicians will perform the following actions during the service:

• Water Supply
  • Turn off the water supply
• Systematic shut-down
  • Drain irrigation main interior water supplies
  • Pneumatically purge each zone using compressed air
  • Manually drain down exterior backflow prevention device
  • Pneumatically purge any additional conveniences that are connected to the irrigation system
• Yard hydrants
• Pier lines *

*Pier lines not connected to the irrigation system can be winterized upon request at an additional cost

Lighting Seasonal Tune-Ups

Many homeowners or businesses that have invested in their landscape, often add outdoor lighting to enhance the overall beauty and added level of safety that lighting brings. Terra Nova Design offers a Lighting Seasonal Tune-Up service to help ensure that the lighting system is properly maintained and serviced throughout the year. Our professionally trained lighting technicians

• General Inspection
  • Inspect terminals and wires for corrosion (clean and lube as needed)
  • Inspect any visual wire on tree’s, arbors or pergola’s for any damages by possible growth or wild life that may have occurred
  • Perform a meter voltage test to assure system is operating at a specified voltage for optimum performance
  • Re-program timers to proper daylight savings times as needed
• Lighting Performance
  • Clean lenses (as required)
  • Inspect photo cells for proper performance (if installed)
  • Inspect fixtures for proper (day time visual) alignment
  • Re-lamp any lamp not working, faded reflectors and/or visually damaged
• Performance Review (if needed)
  • Our service technicians will note and/or discuss modifications or extensive damages

NOTE: Fine tuning at night may be required and not included as part of this service. Any night time visits will be at time and material bases upon request.
